RETIRED ARMED FORCES OFFICERS’ reunion – 2009

We trust you have received our circular on the above. We have sent the circular by normal

post to more than 3,500 retired officers from the three Services, whose addresses are with us.

We kindly request you to respond by returning the “Participation Proforma” and your “Personal

Particulars”, soonest even though you may not be attending any of the reunion activities.

1. Reunion Golf. Tuesday, 10^th November 2009. Tee Off at 0800 hrs.

With thanks to Tan Sri Ahmad bin Johan, President of NADI, the venue is now changed to

Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. Other arrangements including the amount that each

golfer has to pay (RM150.00) remain the same. However, if you are a member of

Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, you only need to pay RM100.00.

As at 9^th October 2009, 54 golfers have registered their interest to participate.

We are accepting only 100 golfers on the basis of the first 100 who registered and have made

the payment.

A letter has been sent by the Secretariat to request for payment. Please send your payment to

confirm your participation soonest otherwise you may not be in the 100 list.

In addition to the individual competition (System 36), there will be an Inter-Team competition.

Each team will comprise of four golfers from the same Intake or Corps/Regiments (for the Air

Force and Navy, from the same Service). So please round up four of your best Intake/Corps

/Regiment/Service golfers to make up the team.

2. Majlis Tahlil. Tuesday, 10^th November 2009. 1845 hrs to 2100 hrs.

Masjid Kem Wardieburn, Kuala Lumpur

As at 9^th October 2009, 63 retired officers and 23 wives and 5 family members

have registered their interest to attend the Majlis Tahlil & Doa Selamat. There is no limit to the

number attending but we need to know the number attending for catering purpose.

We are not imposing any payment but your “sedekah” for this holy cause is most welcomed.

We have someone to sponsor the printing of the “Surah Yasin”

but are yet to get someone to sponsor the “kenduri” .

3. Visit To UPNM, Kem Sungai Besi. Wednesday, 11^th November 2009.

1000 hrs to 1230 hrs.

As at 9^th October 2009, 63 retired officers and 23 wives and 5 family members have registered

their interest to visit UPNM. The visit is open to all retired officers, their wives and family

members (including, anak and cucu saudara), who would like to know about UPNM and its

programme).

On your own, you may not get the same reception that you’ll get through this visit as arranged

by us. Mej Jen Datuk Abd Kadir bin Nordin, (Bersara), (FMC SSC Intake 4, Ex-RAMD),

Chairman of the Visit to UPNM and his members have been liaising with the

Vice-Chancellor and staff of UPNM on this visit.

3. Reunion Dinner. Wednesday, 11^th November 2009. 2000 hrs to 2400 hrs.

Dewan Perdana Felda, Jalan Maktab, Kuala Lumpur.

As at 9th October 2009, 215 retired officers and 70 wives have individually responded

“coming” for the dinner. Another 30 tables have been “booked” by the various intakes and

retired Corps/Regimental organizations. We believe more will respond within the next two

weeks or so and we will achieve our target of 1,000 attendance by the dinner date,

the maximum number that Dewan Perdana Felda can accommodate.

DYMM Raja Perlis has confirmed his royal presence together with DYMM Raja Perempuan Perlis.

We are yet to get confirmation on the royal presence of SPB Yang DiPertuan Agong

and SPB Raja Permaisuri Agong and the attendance of the other dignitaries.

Your Reunion Dinner Sub-Committee, chaired by Mej Dato’ Haji Mohd Said bin Harun, (Bersara)

(FMC Regular Intake 10, ex-Engr) is making the necessary preparations to ensure that the

Reunion Dinner will not be just another “kenduri kahwin”, since it will be held at Dewan Perdana Felda.

It will be an enjoyable and memorable one - a night for us to reminisce the good old days,

to acquaint anew and to renew the bond of friendship and esprit-de-corps amongst us.

The Secretariat has sent the letters requesting for payment to those who have indicated their interest to attend the dinner.

Please send your payment to confirm your attendance otherwise your seat (s) may be given to some other retired officers.

Please note that we have sent the reunion circulars to more than 3,500 retired officers from the three Services and we expect

a good turnout. As such we will only confirm your seat (s) and send you the invitation card (s) after your payment.

Seating will be by Intakes/Service/Corps/Regiments or other grouping.

Table allocation will be on “first come first serve” basis.

CALIFORNIA GRILL - KEBANGGAN TERKINI INTAKE 32

Sekalung tahniah buat Ybhg Dato' Azmi, Cardigan Quest dengan perasmian California Grill milik baliau di One Borneo, Kota Kinabalu Sabah baru-baru ini. Kejayaan ini merupakan kebanggaan bagi setiap skot Intake 32 ini.

Pada tanggal 18 Disember 2008 yang lepas, Presiden Intake 32 Ybhg Dato' Azis Salam telah meluangkan masa bersama keluarga bagi melawat serta menikmati hidangan bertaraf anntarabangsa di California Grill ketika lawatan/percutian beliau ke Negeri Di Bawah Bayu ini.

Ternyata, California Grill sememangnya sebuah restoran yang hebat dengan menyajikan pelbagai hidangan barat dengan harga yang amat berpatutan. Yang membanggakan lagi, jenama California Grill ini adalah hasil/ilham asal daripada Ybhg Dato' Azmi sendiri. Kami doakan semoga California Grill akan menjadi sebuah rangkaian restoran yang terkenal di masa hadapan, Amin.

BUKU MEMOIRS INTAKE 32

SINOPSIS BUKU INTAKE 32

Buku Intake 32 ini telah diilhamkan oleh Kapt (B) Dato’ Mohamed Azmi Bin Abdul Kadir sejak tiga tahun yang lalu. Tujuan mengadakan buku ini adalah untuk mengenang dan mengimbas kembali kenangan serta nostalgia pahit manis skot-skot Intake 32 mengharungi suka duka sebagai seorang anggota tentera.

Kos keseluruhan pencetakan buku ini lebihkurang RM50,000.00 dan akan dibiayai oleh Kapt (B) Dato’ Mohamed Azmi Bin Abdul Kadir sebanyak RM30,000.00, Mej (B) Tajudin Bin Talib sebanyak RM10,000.00 dan Mej (B) Dato’ Azis Bin Salam sebanyak RM5,000.00. Buku ini akan dijual kepada skot-skot Intake 32 dan kepada sesiapa yang berminat dengan harga RM150.00 senaskah. Keseluruhan hasil jualan buku-buku ini akan dimasukkan ke dalam akaun Kelab Intake 32 bagi kegunaan aktiviti-aktiviti kelab dimasa akan datang.

Isi kandungan buku Intake 32 ini dibahagi dalam beberapa bahagian. Diantaranya ialah gambar-gambar dan cerita semasa skot Intake 32 melapor diri di Pre-OCTU (Pre Officer Cadet Training Umit) Kem Sebatang Karah pada tahun 1977, aktiviti skot semasa di pasukan-pasukan, alamat serta gambar keluarga skot-skot Intake 32 dan perkembangan terkini Intake 32 sehingga buku ini dicetak.

Buku ini wajib diperolehi oleh Skot Intake 32 kerana banyak kenangan dan nostalgia yang terkandung di dalamnya. Buku setebal lebih 300 mukasurat ini mempamerkan aktiviti Skot Intake 32 daripada melapor diri di Pre-OCTU sehingga kini.

Diharap semua Skot Intake 32 dapat memaklumkan kepada mereka yang tidak dapat dihubungi agar persahabatan yang terputus dapat disambungkan dan persahabatan yang terjalin dapat dikekalkan.

GREETINGS FROM YBHG DATO' AZIS SALAM

Assalamua'laikum wbt...

Dear brothers....

First and foremost i would like to wish all of you in good health , full of joy with your family and a productive life.

I'm honoured to lead our Club32 with a very clear direction, to bring the brotherhood of Intake 32 back together through so many interesting activities which some of it already been done and many more in the pipeline. In order to make my Presidency an effective one, I really need your close brotherhood support and advice for me to be able to lead this Club32 towards a strong group with a foundation of a true friendship spirit and charitable based community development.

Dear brothers,
we've lost five wonderful buddies in the recent years and Club32 is the best platform for us to maintain our close communication in order for us to keep track our latest development including health conditions.

In order to bring the members closer, the pro tem committee has agreed that we need to establish more communication tools for members to keep in touch with. As per the last pro tem meeting on 18 April 2008, we have agreed to establish the followings:

1. Club 32 Blog
We registered this blog under http://intake32.blogspot.com and manages by Encik Bakhtiar (Buck) our adherent members. The writers will be from the selected committee members who will post topics regarding our Club32 activities, business opportunities, announcement, and other matters that can be disscuss amongst members. We also appreciate any articles or feeds from members which you can send to our Club's email to be publish in this blog. Everybody are welcome to contribute to the blog but try to avoid any sensitive issues that can jeopardize our friendship and reputation of our distinguish club.


2. Email Address
Any updates, news, articles or just a 'hi' from members to be send to our official email intake32@gmail.com. The email will be check on daily basis by our coordinator and all messages will then be distribute to all committee members for action.

3. SMS
At the moment, our main communication tools are using the 'SMS' service and we will continue this method for its effectiveness. However, members are to be reminded to updates your contact number with the committee members in order for us to keep track an update members database.

The pro tem committee also agreed to establish Club32 logo. As you can see, at the moment we are using the RMS logo with CLUB32 wording underneath the logo. However, we would like to invite all members to contribute their ideas on the logo and you can send it to our email for selection. The closing date for the logo design will be on 15 May 2008 as we need to register our Club32 with Registrar of Society soon after the logo finalize.

My brothers,
Club 32 was originally formed in the name of brotherhood and charitable caused however, in our last meeting the pro tem committee had agreed to take club 32 forward whereby we can explore into so many interesting venture and activities, and not only limited to charity. Personally, I believed that Club32 have a lot to offer to its members in terms of business exposures, social, charity, recreational activities and many more exciting things that will definitely benefits the members.

As the President, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all Club32 members especially our pro tem committee for your endless support, commitment and sacrifaction to make Club32 a success. Without your support, I'm unable to steer this great friend'SHIP' nor to raise our flag of 'Intake32' flag of pride. I would like to take this opportunity to express my personal appreciation and salute to our none other, YBhg Dato' Azmi for all his sincere contribution and for Ybhg Dato' Hussein, Ybhg Dato' Rashid, Ybhg Dato' Rahim and others active members for your endless support to our Club32.

All members are encourage to understand the existence of our club 32 and its noble objectives. In order to achieve this, active participation in activities and contribution of ideas are welcome. I kept reminding my self, 'always built a bridge instead of a wall', so lets maintain and strengthen our friendship and brotherhood through this 'bridge' and together we can bring back the GLORY of Intake 32!!!

Abu Huraira RA he said, The messenger of Allah (SAW)said : There is ibadah on every phalange(i.e section) of the people. Every day the sun rises, and you exercise justice between two persons, it is an act of Ibadah, and you helping a man on to his animal, or mounting him on to it, or loading for him his things on it, is an act of ibadah. Good talk is an act of Ibadah, and every step you take towards prayers is an act of Ibadah, and the removing of anything harmful(anything likely to be dangerous to the people) from the the road is an act of ibadah. (Bukhari / Muslim).

Welcome to Club 32 to the world of bloggers. I'm so proud of you guys. My boss, Dato' Azis Salam are the one who introduce me to Club 32 3 years ago.... since then I hooked up. I have the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people from Intake 32..... Tok'yi, Abg Rauf, Abg Makmur, Abg Wahid, Abg Rosli Blues, Abg Rosli Ghani and Dato' Azmi are among the first 'SKOT' that I met. You guys ROCKKKK!!!!

I wish that this club will expand and continue its noble direction under the guidance of a good 'Captain'....... this Club32 is not a boat.....but TITANIC full of True Brotherhood on board. Hello members!!!

First of all, I would like to thank everybody from the committee for giving me the opportunity to be part of this wonderful club32. Kudos to everybody especially to our 'funders' (you know who you are....) to give your time and commitment in bringing back the 'brotherhood esprit de-corp' of Intake 32...

Maybe some of you might wondering why I chose to name this blog 'INTAKE 32' instead of 'Club32'. For a simple reason because the name 'club32' is not available any longer. I hope you guys will agree with me with the name.

As for the email address, I took the initiative to register our club email as follows - intake32@gmail.com and the account will be monitor by selective committee members. So guys, start sending news or anything to this email okay.

Well, I guess that will be it for now. Rest assured I will try to get our President, YH Major (R) Dato' Hj Abdul Azis Abdul Salam to blog his views in my next blog. Till then, brothers forever!!!
